A local real estate agent was arrested for theft Friday by Texarkana, Texas, police.

Reena Corbin, 34, is facing a charge of theft of property, $30,000 to $150,000, for allegedly embezzling funds from her former employer, Coldwell Banker Elite, in Texarkana, Texas. Texarkana, Texas, police public information officer Shawn Vaughn said Corbin was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond Friday afternoon.

Court records state that staff at Coldwell Banker identified seven property transactions allegedly mishandled by Corbin that resulted in her receiving money she was not entitled to have. According to records, Coldwell hired Corbin in January 2015 as a salaried employee who was eligible to receive bonuses but not commission.

Corbin’s Facebook page and the Re/Max Preferred website indicate she now works as a Re/Max Preferred real estate company associate.

Vaughn said the police department has turned over its investigative file to the Bowie County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
