Men caught driving missing Texarkana man’s truck face criminal homicide warrants

Two men who were caught driving a missing Texarkana man’s truck in Tulsa, Oklahoma have pled guilty to charges in Oklahoma and are now facing criminal homicide warrants from Texarkana, Texas Police.

Christopher Guilbeau  was reported missing to Texarkana, Arkansas Police in early March.

Tulsa police arrested 22-year-old Brandon Brown of Dallas and 20-year-old Marquell Smith of Texarkana on March 5 after they were stopped driving Guilbeau’s truck.

Guilbeau’s body was discovered March 6 after police received two calls to 911. Texas patrol officers located Guilbeau’s body in an alley near the 1100 block of Della Street.

According to Texarkana, Texas Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Mike Jones criminal homicide warrants have been issued for Brown and Smith. They must first serve time for their charges in Oklahoma before being returned to Texarkana.

According to Oklahoma court records Brown and Smith were charged with possession of stolen vehicle and possession of paraphernalia. Brown was also charged with driving without a license.

Both pleaded guilty April 1 with the possession of stolen vehicle charges downgraded to joyriding. Both were sentenced to 6 months for joyriding and 6 months for possession of paraphernalia to run concurrently with each other with credit for time served.

According to court records both Smith and Brown have a court date on July 29 for fugitive from justice charges at which time extradition will be discussed.
