Police arrest suspects that allegedly shot man in face Sunday evening

Texarkana, Ark. Police have arrested two people who were allegedly involved in a shooting at Quill Creek Apartments Sunday evening.

According to Texarkana, Ark. Police Department Public Information Officer Corporal Kristi Bennett, at 9:30pm Sunday evening officers responded to the 1300 Block of East 35th, Quill Creek Apartments, in reference to a 911 call of a shooting. On arrival officers determined that an verbal altercation ensued between the victim, 20-year-old Allen Thompson, and the suspects, 17-year-old Jakobe Brown and 19-year-old Tyler Smith, in the parking lot in front of building 11.

According to Bennett, during the altercation Thompson was shot by the suspects in the face. Thompson was taken to St. Michael’s hospital for medical attention, later transported to Little Rock hospital for surgery.

Both Smith and the Jakobe Brown were wanted for 1st degree battery and a terrorist act, both felony crimes. They were arrested Monday, a short time after police issued a press release looking for both.

According to police Brown has been certified as an adult for these charges.
