Texarkana Independent School District announced the hiring of Gerry Stanford as their new Executive Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach effective Monday, February 27, 2017.
Stanford has 18 years of coaching experience. He has spent the last three seasons as the Flower Mound Marcus Marauders head coach.
Stanford has a career record of 47-22.
Stanford is replacing Barry Norton who retired and was hired by Arkansas High in January, after working at TISD since 1999.
Stanford is a Shreveport, LA. native whose father, Jackie Stanford, was a football state championship coach in Louisiana. A graduate of University of North Texas, he is married to casey and they have two children, 7-year-old Payton Grace and 4-year-old Tate.
