Late last week Iasis Healthcare, the operator of Wadley Regional Medical Center, purchased 55 acres on Gibson Ln. in Texarkana, Texas with plans to possibly build a new hospital in the location.

According to Wadley Director of Marketing and Planning, Shelby Brown, “Seaboard Development, on behalf of Wadley Regional Medical Center, has purchased approximately 55 acres of property North of I-30 close to Gander mountain to provide Wadley with options for potential future development.”

Wadley has pioneered many medical firsts for Texarkana. As the area’s first Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center and the first state-designated Level II Primary Stroke Center.

No word on when building is expected to start or how long it will take.
