All officers of the police department had volunteered to work, uncompensated, on their days off and after regular shifts, to attempt to stop the vehicle and residential burglaries. The department had used various methods such as static and rolling surveillance; bait cars with surveillance equipment; informants and other investigative procedures to obtain enough evidence for the issuance of the warrant.

In addition to the stolen property seized, officers also located personal papers and effects belonging to a wanted fugitive from the State of Louisiana. This fugitive is wanted for 2 counts of Attempted Murder out of Bastrop, Louisiana. Wake Village investigators have been in contact with Bastrop authorities in connection to this investigation.
