Wake VIllage Police Respond To Shooting

The Wake Village Police Department responded to a shooting in the 300 block of West Greenfield around 11:00 PM on February 1, 2018.

Upon his arrival, Officer Adam Ball discovered that a white male, later identified as 35-year-old Jesse Scott Burns had been shot multiple times.

A brief on-scene investigation determined Burns had been shot by Clifton Rushing Jr. during an argument that had turned physical. Burns was transported from the scene to a local hospital where he was rushed to emergency surgery.

Rushing was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into jail at the Bi-State Justice Building. WVPD was assisted by deputies of the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, officer’s with Nash Police Department and Troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety
