Bail At $100K For Man Accused Of Threatening To Shoot Texarkana Cops

TEXARKANA, Texas–A man has been arrested for allegedly sending messages to the Texarkana Texas Police Department’s Facebook page threatening to shoot and kill officers.

Darrell Eugene Williams Jr., 27, allegedly sent messages on the morning of June 14 that threatened to shoot officers at the police station. The messages further identified one officer, Shawn Vaughn, the department’s public information officer, by name, and threatened to pistol whip him in front of his family and urinate on them.

Williams has been in custody since last week, according to court records.

TTPD received messages from Facebook user name “Son Of An Angel” at approximately 8:45 a.m. June 14, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The account is allegedly owned by Williams and sent the following to police: “Texarkana police y’all ain’t shit and when I make it to east tx today ima shoot that police station tf up and which ever police wanna get put on the news they can be added on the list,” the affidavit said.

The message reportedly continued with, “aye Shawn don’t forget I know where you and your family lay your heads” and “ima pistol whoop you in front of yo family and piss on all them.”

After sending the first message, Williams allegedly followed up with a second that said, “Ima kill you watch.”

Investigators with the Texas Dept. of Public Safety reportedly obtained confirmation from Facebook that Williams is the owner of the account that sent the threatening messages.

Williams has been charged with terroristic threats against a peace officer. If convicted, he faces six months to two years in a state jail.

Williams is represented by the Bowie County Public Defender’s Office. The case has been assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell.
