Ex-Bowie CO Accused Of Having Sex With Female Inmates
TEXARKANA, Texas–A former correctional officer who had achieved the rank of sergeant has been accused of having sex with two female inmates while they were being held in the Bowie County jail.
Dequan Marquise Wilson, 40, is facing two felony indictments alleging he was intimate with women in the Bowie County jail during his employment. Wilson was a member of the correctional center staff from Sept. 11, 2024, to Oct. 29, 2025, according to a spokesman with the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office.
Wilson is currently free on bonds totaling $150,000, according to the sheriff’s office.
Wilson allegedly received oral sex from one of the inmates on May 16, 2025, and had intercourse with her May 31, 2025. Wilson allegedly had sex with a second inmate on at least two dates beginning Dec. 31, 2024, and ending Oct. 20, 2025, according to court records.
Wilson was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Monday, however his court date was rescheduled for mid-July by Fifth District Judge Bill Miller because Wilson did not have an attorney with him at the hearing, court records show.
If convicted of improper sexual activity with a person in custody, Wilson faces two to ten years on each count.
