Remains found on I-49 sent to Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification

According to Miller County Sheriff’s Office the identity of the woman found deceased on Interstate 49 has not been confirmed at this time.

On April 12, 2017, the Miller County Sheriff’s Office began a Missing Person Investigation of a white female, Elesa Kim Roberts. Investigators called upon the Bowie County Search and Rescue Team and the Miller County Office of Emergency Management to assist in the investigation. The search for Roberts continued throughout the day.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. the Miller County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and informed of a deceased person on I-49. Investigators responded to that area and determined the victim to be that of a white female.

The Arkansas State Police is working the incident on I-49 as an active hit and run case.

The unidentified female has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office say it is still maintaining an open missing person file on Elesa Kim Roberts.
