Even though the Special Response Unit was called, there is no cause for alarm. Texarkana, Texas Fire Department is being cautious and following protocol.
The Special Response Unit of the Texarkana, Texas Fire Department responded to a call of a suspicious package that arrived at the Texarkana Branch of KTAL. Once the Special Response Unit determined that action does not immediately need to be taken, TTFD called in a third party Hazmat Team, which is protocol. The third party, TAS Environmental, arrived, put on their Hazmat suits, and went to work. They worked diligently, but we could not tell what exactly they were doing.
