Health Department closes Dixie Diner restaurant

UPDATE – DIXIE DINER HAS PASSED AN INSPECTION THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND WILL RE-OPEN FRIDAY.

The Texarkana, Texas Health Department pulled the food service permit for Dixie Diner on Kings Highway Wednesday afternoon.

According to the inspection report violations include Improper Cold Holding, Evidence of Insect and rodent contamination, and food employees observed not properly washing hands.

According to a sign posted on the front door, partially covering the cities non-compliance notice, the restaurant is closed for remodeling.

Once Dixie Diner remedies the problems and successfully passes an inspection they will be allowed to reopen.
