A Redwater man is accused of assaulting his mother with a baseball bat.
The attack happened at a house in Redwater around 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
Patty Dodd was transported to the hospital by LifeNet and family reports she is in critical condition.
Dakota L. Dodd, 21, fled into the woods causing a large manhunt to get underway.
Bowie County Deputies used a helicopter and search dogs from Telford prison. Dodd was eventually spotted walking on railroad tracks by the helicopter around 1 p.m. The helicopter guided officers on the ground to Dodd.
Dodd is charged with aggravated assault family violence and failure to identify himself.
