Traffic stop leads to narcotics arrest

Texarkana Arkansas Police Officer Dakota Easley arrested Dewayne Franklin, 21yoa, of Wheatfield Connecticut, and Jermany Tiswell, 25yoa, of Marianna Arkansas, after discovering 10 pounds of marijuana, 4 pounds of THC oil, and ecstasy during a traffic stop.

On February 19, 2019, at 11:30pm, Officer Easley pulled over a blue Hyundai Accent for following too close to an 18-wheeler at the 5MM on I30 Eastbound. As Officer Easley approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver a strong odor of burning marijuana was emitting from inside. Officer Easley requested backup due to the occupants behaving suspiciously. One of the occupants advised officers that his buddy had marijuana in the vehicle. During the vehicle search Officers located Narcotics and THC oil in sealed bags contained in a suitcase.

Both Franklin and Tiswell were arrested and charged with 2 counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
