A 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead on scene Monday evening after the mother was struck while crossing State Line Ave. while carrying the child in her arms.
The pedestrian crash happened in the 5000 block of N. State Line.
According to Texarkana, Ark. Police, a vehicle traveling northbound on State Line was attempting to turn left when it struck the mother carrying the child in the turn lane. The driver told police that he did not see anyone in the road.
The mother was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Police have not released the identity of the mother or child at this time.
