Local couple open restaurant featuring French-American traditional cooking

A new restaurant opened this week in the location where Timothy’s was on Kings Highway in Texarkana.

Benchmark American Brasserie was opened Tuesday by Jason and Becky Williams. Jason was most recently the general manager of Pecan Point Gastropub. Becky is a classic French-trained chef who has been working in the restaurant industry for over 15 years.

A brasserie is defined as an informal restaurant, especially one in France or modeled on a French one and with a large selection of drinks.

According to Jason Benchmark offers, “French-American traditional cooking.”

Menu items include Steak Frit, a New York strip topped with peppercorn and herb butter and served with wedge fries and a side of garlic mayo, to their signature Un, Deux, Trois Burger.

The menu also features an extensive list of custom crafted cocktails.
