Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Trustees approved the design and floor plan of their new elementary school at the Tuesday, January 22 board meeting.
The elementary school will be located at the corner of Galleria Oaks Dr. and Christus Dr. The building will contain 32 classrooms, special education offices, STEAM and Professional Learning Community focuses, a media center, gymnasium, and cafeteria. The elementary school is being designed by Lewis Architects in Little Rock, AR.
“Our Elementary Design Committee, comprised of teachers, administrators, directors and community members, has been vital to the design of our new elementary campus. Two high school students have served on this committee as a part of their Interior Design Internship/Practicum class under the supervision of teacher Tiffany Horton. Elements of the design, such as the round windows and round bollards at the front of the school came from their ideas,” Interim Superintendent Mr. Hailey said. “We look forward to seeing these ideas come to life with the ground breaking later this spring.”
Pleasant Grove hopes to break ground on the new elementary school in late spring and open in the Fall of 2020.
