Three major road construction projects will be wrapping up construction in the next few weeks. Texarkana drivers have been dealing with delays on Moores Lane and Highway 59 for months now as construction crews widen the roadway.
According to Marcus Sandefur, TxDOT Atlanta District Public Information Officer, Moores Ln. just lacks striping and some ditch work. He said barring rain it should be fully open by the end of the month. Sandefur said that Highway 59 & 989 just lacks small patchwork on cement and striping and should be complete within the next two weeks.
The city also has Galleria Oaks from Cowhorn Creek to Richmond Rd. nearing completion. According to Kyle Dooley, Texarkana Texas public works director, “the opening of Galleria Oaks should be near the end of September.”
