Community Healthcore is a non-profit agency that is the local Mental Health Authority for 9 counties, including Bowie, Cass and Red River Counties. Community Healthcore provides mental health services to children and adults, programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, substance abuse services and has a unit to assist homeless Veterans.
We are celebrating the anniversary and the success of the Regional Crisis Response Center, which opened last year, located inside CHRISTUS St. Michael in Atlanta on Nov. 26.
The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is a great way to kick off the holiday with an annual family tradition. This year includes a 5K and 1 mile walk. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m. at Spring Lake Park.
Strollers and pets entries are encouraged. Costume contest, turkey call contest and kids sprints and bounce play areas.
Besides local entries we have had entries from numerous states. Entry fee is $25 for 5K or 1 mile, $10 for strollers and/or pets. All other events are free.
