A&M-Texarkana to Host AP Summer Institutes

Texas A&M University-Texakana will once again host
College Board endorsed Advanced Placement Summer Institutes July 9-12 and
July 23-26. Summer Institutes prepare high school teachers with the necessary
credentials to teach Advanced Placement (AP) classes.
The July 9-12 sessions include Art History, US History, World History, and
Government. The July 23-26 sessions include Calculus AB/BC, Computer Science
A, and English Language and Literature. AP training sessions are led by College
Board consultants.
The cost of the 4 day training is $575 and includes lunch. Teachers can register for
the summer institutes by visiting the CollegeBoard website at
https://apcentral.collegeboard.org.
Committed to quality professional development, the Region 8 Educational Service
Center in Mt. Pleasant is offering 4 scholarships per district for high school
teachers to attend. The scholarships will cover 50% of the cost of the training.
