At the same time firefighters were on scene of the fire at Dairy Queen an apartment fire at 24th Street and Short Beech Street was dispatched.
Texarkana, Arkansas Fire Department fought the fire along with assistance from Texarkana, Texas Fire Department. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the second floor when firefighters arrived on scene.
No injuries were reported and the cause is still be investigated.
Red Cross is en route to the locations to provide shelter for the 4 displaced families.
