B-17 Sentimental Journey Visits Texarkana Airport This Week

b17October 7, 2014 | The Boeing B-17 Sentimental Journey visits Texarkana Regional Airport this week. The cockpit tours and rides will be given daily until Friday, October 9, 2014. The Sentimental Journey was scheduled to arrive in Texarkana yesterday at noon. The general public can view the aircraft for free.

“Do not miss an opportunity to view this incredible aircraft and learn about its fundamental role in history,” stated the CAF Airbase Arizona Facebook page. The aircraft is stationed with the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Mesa, Arizona. This aircraft has seen action in WWII in the Pacific Theater and later used for photo-mapping.

You can receive additional details and reserve rides by calling (602) 448-9414. You can ride in the aircraft for $425 in the waiste seat and $850 for the nose seats. However, there is a minimum of five people needed to sign up for the flight.

The website advises that for you to bring your own ear protection and the flight intensity is less than a commercial airliner.
