Bail Set For Man Accused of Shooting Woman

Curtis Jones appeared in front of a Miller County judge for allegedly shooting his ex girlfriend Wednesday January 22.

Jones was out on $25,000 bail at the time for residential burglary and was under orders from the court to not contact the victim.

Jones is accused of shooting is a former girl friend in the 1700 block of Grand Avenue. The woman drove herself to bi-state calling police along the way. Officers found her parked in front of Bi-State Justice Building with multiple gun shot holes in her vehicle.

Prosecutors asked Judge Autrey to set bail at $4 million $9 million due to the nature of the charges and risk of flight. (we have been unable to obtain the court documents yet so this information is based on the limited records we can find online. Records have updated indicating he is being held on at least $9 million bail)

Charges against Jones include:

  • 4 counts of Aggravated assault on a family or household member
  • Attempted criminal homicide
  • Residential burglary
  • Domestic battery
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon
  • 4 counts of Terroristic acts
