Boil Water Notice Issued for Texarkana Customers South of West 15th, West of South State Line
Texarkana Water Utilities has issued a boil water notice for customers in the Rosehill and LE areas effective Aug. 5, 2026, due to no water/low pressure.
The affected area includes TWU customers south of West 15th Street and west of South State Line.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Texarkana, Texas public water system (ID 0190004) to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption, including for washing hands/face, brushing teeth and drinking. Children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
To ensure destruction of harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and boiled for two minutes, then cooled before use. In lieu of boiling, customers may purchase bottled water or use another suitable source.
Residents are urged to share this notice with other people who drink this water, including those in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses. TWU will issue a rescission notice once the boil order is lifted.
