Boot Barn and the Lone Star Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) extend a big thank you to the community for their generous donations benefiting our American Troops serving abroad.
Over the past two weeks, Boot Barn sponsored a benefit at their Texarkana store that collected items purchased by their customers such as jeans, shirts, hats & CD’s. Lone Star DAR members will then organize and assemble those items into care packages and ship them to our troops serving in various locations abroad.
“This was Boot Barn’s way of giving back and showing our appreciation for our troops,” said Becca Penny, Boot Barn Manager. We were happy to help and very much appreciate the outpouring of support from our wonderful customers.”
Lone Star DAR is a lineage based service organization that has carried out the missions of promoting patriotism, historic preservation, conservation and education in the Texarkana community for more than 100 years.
“Supporting our active military is a significant part of what we do,’ said Tammie Duncan Blackburn, Lone Star DAR Regent. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Boot Barn in support of our troops and hope to do so again in the near future.”
