Cigars, ‘Tinis, and Tunes benefitting Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter scheduled for April 11

Cigars, ‘Tinis, and Tunes, benefitting the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter, is scheduled for April 11th , 2019 at Silver Star Smoke House & Saloon at 7:00 p.m. 2 Pianos will provide entertainment for the annual event. “This is a wonderful event,” said Helen Diggs, executive director. “People have a great time and the funds raised make it possible for us to provide vital services in our community.”

The event will feature cigars courtesy of PuffNStuff, specialty martinis and heavy hors d’ oeuvres, fantastic entertainment and a great silent auction. Tickets are $50 and are available in advance or at the door.

The Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter is the only completely free shelter serving adult men and women in an 85-mile radius. Already this year 192 people have moved from the shelter into permanent housing. Our mission is essential. Our programs work! In 2018 alone, more than 30,655 nights of shelter and more than 45,766 services were provided through the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter for residents of the Texarkana community.

The Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter was developed as a product of a labor of love. Founded in 1996, the Shelter’s mission is to meet the immediate needs of safe temporary lodging and food for the poor and homeless who come into our midst until their return to self-sustained community life.
