After serving for nine months Texarkana Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bill Cork has announced that he plans to resign.
According to Cork he told the chamber board Wednesday morning but a date has not yet been set for his departure.
“The board executive committee and I are currently working to formulate a transition plan and no final date for my departure has been confirmed,” Cork said.
Cork became President of the Chamber on July 21, 2014. Prior to the Chamber Cork was executive director of TexAmericas Center.
According to Cork it was his decision to leave and not the boards. “I offered my resignation yesterday for personal reasons,” Cork told TXK Today.
“I have tremendous respect for the Chamber and its members and look forward to being a part of the community going forward,” he said.
