Beloved country music star, Dolly Parton, preformed several of her greatest hits Saturday night September 30, 2017 at the 11th annual Ashdown High School Alumni association’s banquet dinner. The banquet was held for the celebration of the 50 years for the Ashdown graduating class of 1967.
A group of more than 600 alumni members and their families gathered in the Ashdown High Cafeteria for the much anticipated event.
The Banquet also honored Kent Wells, Grammy Nominated Nashville Producer, who was also a graduate of Ashdown High school in 1981.

“This was supposed to be a secret, but you can’t keep Dolly hidden for long,” Said Wells.
Wells’ oldest son, Derek Wells, also joined the two on stage that evening. Derek has also won and been nominated for several Country Music Association awards, including musician of the year 2016, and a nominee for the 2017 musician of the year.
After the banquet Dolly and Wells also performed at the Garrison air strip featuring local artist from Ashdown and several others just a few miles down highway 71.
