Driver unhurt after semi crashes, catches fire on Interstate 30

A major accident on Exit 198 on Interstate 30 near New Boston caused authorities to re-route I-30 travelers just after 8 a.m. Friday morning.

Vehicles traveling on I-30 were forced to merge onto the exit ramps and re-enter the interstate.

The accident involving a semi-truck took place when the driver lost control of the vehicle causing the truck to crash and catch on fire.

New Boston Fire Department, LifeNet, Bowie County Deputies and DPS Troopers responded to the accident at which they found the driver uninjured.

No other injuries were reported.
