The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a winter weather advisory for light freezing rain till 9 a.m. Sunday.
According to the NWS cold rain will move into the region overnight and and temperatures will fall near or slightly below freezing tonight.
The rain will likely become freezing rain near midnight and continue through early Sunday morning. Use caution on roads and especially bridges in the morning. Less than one quarter of a inch is expected across the entire area.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SHREVEPORT HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM CST SUNDAY.
* EVENT… A COLD RAIN WILL BE MOVING INTO THE REGION OVERNIGHT. THIS RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION WHERE TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY FALL TO NEAR OR SLIGHTLY BELOW FREEZING OVERNIGHT. THE RESULT WILL BE LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WITH ACCUMULATIONS LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH ACROSS THE ENTIRE ADVISORY AREA.
* TIMING… THE COLD RAIN WILL LIKELY BECOME FREEZING RAIN NEAR MIDNIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH 9 AM SUNDAY MORNING.
* IMPACT… ICE ACCUMULATION ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES… POWER LINES AND OTHER EXPOSED SURFACES WILL BE THE MAIN IMPACTS WITH THIS EVENT. ICY BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WOULD THEREFORE IMPACT TRAVEL OVERNIGHT THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING UNTIL TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF WINTER PRECIPITATION MAY CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND PLAN ON SOME TRAVEL DELAYS. ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES CANNOT BE RULED OUT AS WELL OVERNIGHT AND EARLY ON SUNDAY.
