Boil Water Notice Issued for TWU Customers South of West 15th Street and West of State Line

TEXARKANA, Texas — Texarkana Water Utilities has issued a boil water notice for customers south of West 15th Street and west of South State Line Avenue due to no water or low water pressure.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the City of Texarkana, Texas public water system, ID 0190004, to notify affected customers to boil water before consumption. This includes water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing hands or faces.

Children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria and should follow the notice carefully.

Boiling Instructions

Water intended for drinking, cooking, or making ice should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and boiled for two minutes, then cooled before use. Customers may use bottled water or another suitable source instead of boiling water.

TWU will notify customers when the water is safe for consumption and the boil water notice has been rescinded.

Residents are asked to share the notice with others who may not have received it directly, including people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses.
