Gas Line Explosion Parker & Summerhill

TEXARKANA, TEX- Texarkana Texas Fire Department responded to a fire call at approximately 6:27 p.m. on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, at Summerhill Road and Parker Road. A sub-contractor who was working on the line was sent to Wadley Regional Medical Center with burns to his arm and has been released.

TTFD crews had the fire under control quickly and Centerpoint Energy was on scene at the time of this release working to turn off the gas valve.

6:00 P.M. Thursday | A gas line explosion has a lane closed on Summerhill Rd. and a 15ft flame coming from the ground.

The cause is unknown.  Centerpoint Energy workers were on scene trying to get the gas line turned off.
