Arkansas Tech Gorillas win the 5th annual Agent Barry Live United Bowl against Pittsburg State Wonder Boys on Saturday, December 2017 at the Texarkana Arkansas High School Razorback Stadium.
In a surprising comeback in the fourth quarter, Pittsburg State Gorillas managed to win 48-31 against Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys, invigorating the stadium during the final hour of the competition.
The Agent Barry Live United Bowl is a NCAA Division II bowl game that matched teams from the Great American Conference and the Lone Star Conference.
The event featured entertainment by the Robert St. John band, which played various Prince Songs that the crowd sang and danced along to, and NFL Superstar, Rod Smith of Denver Broncos. $5,000 in cash prizes was also distributed to winners over the course of the afternoon.
Proceeds from the Agent Barry Live United Bowl fund the United Way of Greater Texarkana, raising over $25,000 from 2013 to 2017.
Allen Brown, Bowl Committee Chairman, said, “We are proud to be able to bring an event like this to the Texarkana area,” a place that loves football. “It is gratifying to hear these kids excited to have an opportunity to play one more game,” Brown concluded.
KJ Reed, Texas High School graduate and #40 for the Wonder Boys said, “It is a great experience and I’m excited to be back in town and have my friends get to see me play.”
