The monthly Texarkana, Arkansas, recycling event, Green Texarkana, will be held Saturday, Nov. 14th,  from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E. 3rd and Hazel streets.

Green Texarkana is a single-stream recycling drive collecting paper, cardboard and plastics, as well as electronics including computers, printers and TVs.

Also accepted are tin cans, aluminum, ink cartridges and plastic film like shopping bags. Those items should be sorted out separately because they go to different processors.

Several other activities will also be taking place downtown at this time, including a parade. Residents wishing to recycle are encouraged to come early in the morning or after 11:30 a.m., to hopefully avoid the heaviest traffic. Please watch for traffic, pedestrians and barricades. Parking will not be allowed in the northern end of the parking lot where the recycling event is held.

This event is not for recycling glass, Styrofoam, tires, furniture or hazardous materials including CFLs (fluorescent lights). For more information call 870-779-4946.
