Harvest Regional Food Bank Received $2000 Grant

Harvest Regional Food Bank, Texarkana received a grant from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance for $2000 to assist with addressing food insecurity in southwest Arkansas. Representative Mary P. “Prissy” Hickerson recommended Harvest Regional Food Bank, acknowledging the outstanding work they do to assist those in need.

Arkansas ranks near the top on the country in the food insecurity, for seniors, children, and individuals and families. Kathy Webb, executive director of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, said that “the efforts of Representative Mary P. “Prissy” Hickerson are important in the fight against hunger. We appreciate her support of Harvest Regional Food Bank and their programs, as well as her support of the regional food banks and of the Alliance. Many Families in the state are helped because of her support.”

The Alliance is the state wide voice for hunger relief, with over 500 members, including the six Feeding America Food Banks and hundreds of pantries.

“Harvest Regional Food Bank relies on the support of friends and advocates like Representative Hickerson and the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance,” said Camille Coker Wrinkle, Executive Director of Harvest Regional Food Bank. “Because of their efforts, our Food Bank is able to serve a ten county area that includes over 60,000 food insecure individuals.”
