High Speed Chase on Bowie Parkway After Car Runs Over Decoy Deer

10:30 p.m. Sunday | One person was arrested after leading Texas Wildlife Officers on a short high speed chase that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

Texas Wildlife Officers had a decoy deer setup off Bowie Parkway to catch hunting violators. According to Texas Game Warden Daniel Kessler, a person saw the deer and used their vehicle to run over the deer.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated to speeds of over 100 miles per hour according to radio traffic of the incident.

The chase only lasted a few minutes and the car came to a stop at FM 991 and County Road 1214 where game wardens and deputies pulled all five occupants out of the car at gun point.

According to Kessler, the driver was arrested for evading arrest and at least one occupant was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.
