Repairs to the damaged ramp at Highway 71 index bridge are aw
Work to repair the damaged Red River boat ramp at Highway 71 index bridge is awaiting Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, approval to get started.
The boat ramp has been closed since late May 2015 due to major Red River flooding.
According to Arkansas Game & Fish District Supervisor Eric Brinkman the boat ramp, parking lot and much of the access road are in need of replacement due to damage from flood waters.
A plan has been developed and submitted to FEMA for approval but no time has been established yet, said Brinkman.
According to Brinkman FEMA will be paying for the repairs.
