Hope Man Shoots Girlfriend

On December 13, 2014, at approximately 830PM, officers of the Hope Police Department responded to a report of a subject being shot at 618 Henry C Yerger Street, in Hope.
Officers were advised that Antonio Perkins had shot his girlfriend.
Upon arrival, officers located Antonio Perkins, 25, of Hope, walking around outside the residence and took him into custody. Officers made contact with the victim, Carneasha Thirdgill, 23, of Hope, and learned that Perkins had become involved in an altercation with another person at the residence and had pulled a gun. Thirdgill attempted to intervene and grabbed the gun. The gun discharged, striking Thirdgill on a finger of the left hand. Thirdgill was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope. Perkins was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he was charged with Aggravated Assault and released to the jailer on duty pending a first appearance.
