Individual Robbed in Driveway of Residence

TEXARKANA, TEXAS – The Texarkana Texas Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred in the 6000 block of Sandlin Avenue on Monday.

Officers responded to the report of a robbery of an individual outside a residence at approximately 5:50 on Monday evening. The victim told officers that he was sitting in his vehicle while talking on his cell phone in his driveway. He said a man approached his driver’s side window and asked to borrow his cell phone to call his mother to tell her that he was stranded. The victim refused but instead offered to make the call for him. After the call did not go through, the suspect then pointed a pistol at the victim demanded he give him his wallet and cell phone. The suspect was last seen running north toward Gould Lane.

The suspect is described as a black male, 17-21 years old, 5’11” to 6’0”, slender build, 140-160 pounds. He had small 1-2 inch braids in his hair that the victim described as “spikey on top”.

Detectives do not believe this robbery is related to a similar robbery that happened on January 22 at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Richmond Road. Two juveniles have been arrested in that case.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or CrimeStoppers at 903-793-STOP.
