Learn Traditional Woodworking at UAHT’s February Carpentry Class

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana will host a basic carpentry course next month for individuals interested in learning traditional woodworking skills.

The hands-on class will introduce participants to fundamental carpentry techniques using hand tools, with no prior experience necessary. The course is designed for beginners and will focus on building practical skills while emphasizing safety and accuracy.

Students will learn essential techniques including measuring and marking, cutting, fastening, and assembling simple projects without power tools. According to the university, the class emphasizes problem-solving, craftsmanship, and understanding of materials to help students develop foundational woodworking skills applicable to everyday home projects.

The two-hour course will take place on February 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the UAHT Hope Campus. The cost is $80 per person.
