Legacy Heart Walk 2026 Returns Sept. 19 at Bringle Lake Park

TEXARKANA, Texas – The Legacy Heart Walk is returning to Bringle Lake Park on Saturday, September 19, 2026, for a free, family-friendly morning of fitness, fellowship, and heart-health awareness in recognition of World Heart Day on September 29.

The walk is not a competitive race. Organizers aim to create an approachable environment where participants can begin exactly where they are and enjoy an hour of fitness and community. Three fitness experiences are offered: Beginner (seated exercises, breathing techniques, and stretching), Moderate (approximately one hour of community walking), and Advanced (a 5.878-mile trail walk/run).

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the official fitness kickoff at 9 a.m. Community partners, wellness education, family engagement, and health-related resources will complement the morning. Families, churches, businesses, civic groups, nonprofits, and organizations are encouraged to form teams of four or more and walk together.

Admission is completely free, and early registration is strongly encouraged.

“Sometimes, better health begins with one conversation, one decision, and one step,” said Tia Williams, founder of the Legacy Heart Walk. “Our goal is to help people reach someone who knows they need to make a change but may simply need encouragement and a community in which to begin.”
