Man Accused Of Sexual Misconduct With Teen Boy
TEXARKANA, Texas — A man accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy he met online is being held in the Bowie County jail with bail set at $200,000.
Anthony Sanchez, 23, allegedly sent a video of himself engaged in a sexual act with the teen to an electronic tablet the teen had previously used, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Thursday. The tablet actually belonged to a family member who intercepted the SnapChat message when it was sent in January and notified law enforcement.
A detective with the Texarkana Texas Police Dept. obtained a search warrant for Sanchez’s SnapChat account in mid-January, the affidavit said. The results of the search allegedly yielded a number of other videos of Sanchez engaged in sexual contact with the teen boy.
Other evidence obtained from the search led investigators to believe Sanchez worked at a business in Hope, Ark. Management at the business allegedly confirmed Sanchez’s identity.
Sanchez faces two to twenty years if convicted of sexual assault of a child.
The case has been assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell. No attorney of record was listed Thursday for Sanchez.
