A 19-year-old man was arrested Saturday for rape involving a 4-year-old boy.

Anthony Young is accused of assaulting the child in a bathroom stall at a homeless shelter on Highway 67 West in Hope, Ark., said Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton. Investigators believe Young was in the bathroom when the boy walked in to use it. Young is accused of taking the child into a stall and molesting him.

Staff at the homeless shelter contacted authorities Saturday at about 10:15 p.m., according to a Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office report. Deputy Derick Bunn arrested Young at the shelter. Young is being held in the Hempstead County jail without bail.

He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing in Hempstead County Circuit Court Aug. 24. If convicted of rape, Young faces 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
