A Texas man who sent sexually oriented and graphic selfies to two Miller County girls in late 2014 was sentenced to five years probation Tuesday.

Cody Lynn Pankey, 30, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual grooming of a child before Circuit Judge Kirk Johnson at a hearing in a courtroom at the Miller County Correctional Facility. Pankey was represented by Texarkana lawyer Josh Potter and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Connie Mitchell managed the state’s case.

Pankey sent numerous explicit photos to the girls, 12 and 13 years of age, in November and December 2014, according to a probable cause affidavit used to create the following account. A family member of one of the girls brought the offensive images to police in Texarkana.

Pankey, of Elkhart, Texas, must register as a sex offender and is prohibited from having any contact with either of the victims. In addition to probation, Pankey must pay a $1,000 fine and court costs.
