9:45 p.m. Tuesday | A multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 71 at Interstate 49 left northbound Highway 71 blocked and sent multiple people to the hospital Tuesday evening.
The accident involving a chicken truck left numerous chickens free on the highway.
It appeared the truck was turning onto 71 southbound at 49 on when it was struck by a vehicle traveling north on 71 causing the vehicles traveling behind to crash into the car.
At least 3 people were transported by LifeNet with unknown injuries.
Texarkana, Arkansas Fire Department, Miller County Sheriff’s Office, Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, and Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department all had personnel on scene.
