Multiple Fire Departments Fight Brush Fire at Leary Exit I-30

2:00 p.m. Thursday | A grass fire at the Leary, Texas exit on Interstate 30 had three local fire departments respond to help extinguish Christmas afternoon.

C-5 Fire Department was initially dispatched with Hooks and Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department also dispatched a short time later to provide a tanker truck and additional personnel.

The fire appeared to start along interstate and had made its way into a large pasture where it was starting to spread. Fire crews were quickly on scene and had the fire contained although it took a few hours to get all the flames out.

No structures were damaged.
