The Texas Department of Transportation has announced multiple road construction projects affecting travel across the Texarkana region during the week of February 1-7.
In Bowie County, major work continues on I-30 from FM 989 to the Arkansas state line, with westbound lanes split and some ramp closures in effect. The Exit 220B/Richmond Road westbound ramp remains closed due to highway widening. FM 2148 is closed under the I-30 bridge, and the US 82 westbound entrance and exit ramps at I-30 are closed, along with the eastbound entrance ramp.
Harrison County drivers will encounter a full closure of Delia Drive at Page Road for intersection realignment, with a detour in place. I-20 westbound lanes are being resurfaced from FM 450 to SH 43, and CR 1301 (Cargill Road) is closed at Eight Mile Creek for bridge replacement.
In Panola County, FM 1794 is closed at US 59 as crews construct a new interchange. Traffic has been diverted to frontage roads with detours in place.
Other counties affected by road work include Cass, Marion, Morris, Titus, and Upshur counties, with projects ranging from bridge replacements to road rehabilitation requiring various lane and shoulder closures.
Most projects involve daytime lane closures, though some major routes have traffic shifts and detours in effect around the clock.
