The City of Wake Village and Walmart announced today plans for a new Neighborhood Market that will be located at 200 Wake Village Road, at the northwest corner of Wake Village and Highway 67. The new store will bring approximately 95 new jobs to the community in addition to a convenient option for healthy and affordable groceries, a full-service pharmacy and daily household merchandise.

“We are pleased that Walmart decided to build here and help bring growth and jobs to our city,” Wake Village Mayor Jim Roberts said. “We welcome this addition to the community and are certain it will be a win-win for both Walmart and for the future economic development of our city.”

The Walmart Neighborhood Market format offers quick and convenient shopping with a full-grocery department including organic and natural selections. The new 41,000 square foot store will have a six pump fuel station and will provide customers with a convenient option for fresh produce, meat and dairy products, pharmacy needs, deli foods, and bakery items – all at Walmart’s famous Every Day Low Prices.
“Serving our customers is our top priority and Walmart is excited for this opportunity to expand our services and serve new customers in Wake Village,” Anne Hatfield, Walmart Director of Communications said. “We are happy to bring the convenience of the Walmart Neighborhood Market to Bowie County and look forward to continue serving the greater Texarkana area.”

Site work is to begin within the next two weeks. Building construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2015, with the grand opening in the fall of 2015.
