Parks and Recreation Department Offers Full Schedule of Fall Entertainment | City of Texarkana, Texas

The Parks and Recreation Department will host Movies in the Park on Thursdays during October. The schedule is as follows:

  • October 9th: Heaven is for Real, PGmovies in the park october (1)
  • October 16th: Muppets Most Wanted, PG
  • October 23rd: The Amazing Spiderman 2, PG13
  • October 30th: Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, PG13

Movies kick off around 7:45 p.m, and admission is FREE

• Spring Lake Park will also be the location of the Parks and Recreation Department’s Fall Fest on October 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The festival will include games and prizes, bouncy houses, face painting, costume contest for the children and pets, pumpkin decorating and hayrides. Following the fall festival, Muppets Most Wanted will play as the Movie in the Park at 7:30 p.m.

The City of Texarkana, Texas’ Parks and Recreation Department will host the semi-annual community-wide yard sale from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Spring Lake Park. Pre-Registration for sellers is on-going at the Parks and Recreation office (Southwest Center – 3222 W. 7th St.). All items are welcome to be sold except animals, firearms, weapons of any kind, and food. A 20×20 space is available for only $15.00, first come – first serve basis.

This yard sale will be in conjunction with Electronics Recycling Day. Computers, TVs, Stereos, and other small appliances will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the parking lot across from the Rotary Splash Pad. Additionally, members of the Texarkana College Earth Club will be on hand to assist residents with unloading their recyclable electronics.

Everyone is invited to ZUMBA in the Park on November 1, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Spring Lake Park. Come Zumba with different instructors from the Texarkana area and have a fun time while you let the music free your body with the ultimate dance-fitness party. FREE!
