Pedestrian hit and killed on Interstate 30

On Monday, February 06 at 2:00 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a fatal vehicle – pedestrian crash on IH-30 in Morris County, about 9 miles north of Omaha, TX.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a 2016 Freightliner Truck-Tractor, towing a 2013 Great Dane Trailer, was traveling west on IH-30 when a pedestrian walked into the lane of traffic and was struck by the Truck-Tractor.

Pedestrian, Joel Ethan Dockery, 43 year old male from Wills Point, TX was transported to East Texas Medical Center, where he later died from his injures.

The driver, Larry G. Kinney, 55 year old male from Brownville, TN was not injured.
